THS Mock Trial Team Goes to Court

The Mock Trial Team, comprised of students from the Trumbull High Honors Justice and Law class, recently visited the Connecticut Supreme Court in Harford.

In addition to touring the Supreme Court building and receiving a briefing about the court from a historian, the team witnessed two oral arguments presented before the judges, with Chief Justice Chase T. Rogers presiding.

Instructor Eric August commented, "The students were able to see some of the concepts they are learning in class being applied in a real judicial branch setting. They enjoyed it immensely."While in Hartford, the team also toured the State Capital building.

The students are continuing their preparations for the Connecticut Mock Trial competition, which will be held at the Stamford Superior Court on March 27.
